JSU is a really sad school I've heard, there's not much going on. New Orleans in itself is a much more exciting city.

I am not familiar with Jackson State so can't compare.

UNO has a good academic reputation
UNO's campus is safe and in a good neighborhood
New Orleans has a tremendous amount of things to do
New Orleans is safe as long as you don't buy/sell/use crack cocaine or hang out with people who do
